The Communicator's guide to Co-operative Identity

Quebec City, 6 October 2014 – Following the launch of a new visual identity for the global co-operative sector in Cape Town last November a guide to Co-operative Identity will be unveiled by Dame Pauline Green, President of the International Co-operative Alliance, during the International Summit of Co-operatives in Quebec City., a fully owned subsidiary of the International Co-operative Alliance, has produced a guide to provide marketing and communications professionals, decision-makers and leaders of co-operative and mutual businesses with useful insight, information and ideas around communicating and promoting co-operative identity.  The guide will also help reader understand the issues of co-operative identity in the Blueprint for a Co-operative Decade and the role of the co-operative marque and .coop domain.

"We are delighted that less than 12 months since we launched the new Marque that we have already had applicants from 78 countries.  There is a definite appetite from co-operatives all around the world to show that they are proud to be part of a global movement and that they want to visibly show that they support co-operation.  This new guide will cement in the minds of readers that the co-operative marque and .coop domain are simple ways to promote co-operative identity" said Dame Pauline Green in launching the new Guide.  "Our aim is for the co-operative identity to become one of the best know ethical marques in the world by 2020".

The 3000 delegates expected at the International Summit of Co-operatives in Quebec will receive a specially produced printed version of the guide in their delegate bag which has been produced in English, French and Spanish.  In addition the guide will become a core element of the Co-operative Identity Toolkit and made available for all co-operatives to download from their own websites as an eBook.

The guide is design-led and features unique content on communicating co-operative identity including a Forward from Charles Gould, Director-General of the International Co-operative Alliance and an Introduction from Dame Pauline Green.
